Population problem in Bangladesh and its effect

Bangladesh is a country of south East Asia. Its area is only 1, 47570 square kilometers. But its population is about 15crore . It is one of the most densely populated countries in the world. Its population growth is almost 1.38. If same growth of population (1.38) is increased in such rate over two million people are added to our population every year. If we see the past statistics of Bangladesh population growth, we can see the following comparative study:
 Census year
 Enumerated population(Thousand)
 1974
 71,479
 1981
 87,120
 1991
 106,315
 2001
 124,355
 2011
 142,319

We can see in 1974 after the liberation war our population was only 71,479  but in 1991 the population was almost double measuring 106,315(Thousand). So we can say those 17 years population growth was most high. Population is now main problem in our country. As increasing of population the following problems have already been created:
  • Shortage of food
  • Habitation problem
  • Unemployment problem.
  • Environment problem
  • Health problem
  • Economic problem
  • Education problem
  • water pollution
  • Air pollution
  • Deforestation
  • Change of atmosphere
  • Change of climate
  • Shortage of natural resources (E.g.: Oil, Gas, koel etc).
  • Imbalance of demand and supply.
  • Green house effect
How to reduce the effect of population problem:
As it is a major problem of our country. But we can make our population asset by utilizing proper use of population. If we able to make our people as a asset it will be more useful of our country. But we must need to reduce our population. For reduce this problem we can take the following steps:
  • Family planning: Each and every family must not more then two children. Govt. should give reward for one child.
  • Early marriage must be stopped by making law.
  • Education: Every people must be proper educated.  Educated people are aware about more children.
  • Sex education: Sex Education need to be made mandatory in schools.
  • Health care: Child death should be reduced.
